![]() Paul was working in the south of England with a manufacturing company who turned out Conservatory blinds every day of the week. The only thing that changed was that some were different colours and some were different sizes. When asked why he had wanted to change his job, his reply wasn't too much of a surprise! He said that it was ‘tedious, boring and repetitive'. What's more it was the ‘same four walls every day' and he ‘didn't earn enough money'. If ever there was a candidate for a career change it was Paul. Paul's father had been an electrician before he'd passed away and so was his uncle. Many of his friends had tradesmen in the family too, so his path was pretty much mapped out for him without a great deal of soul searching. Like most people, Paul began his research into electrician training courses on the web and while this was still in progress he'd spotted Trade Qualified's advertisement in his local paper. He had already spoken to several companies and looked at dozens of websites so by now he knew exactly what he was looking for from an electrical training course. ‘Quite simply, Trade Qualified was the best I'd seen by a long way' said Paul, ‘I had a couple of conversations and it was obvious that they knew what they were talking about. The whole experience before enrolment was very professional and after I enrolled on the electrician training course, things got better and better. When my electrician course study books arrived from Trade Qualified, I was very pleasantly surprised. It was just a small thing but there was a personal letter from their MD and everything was packaged so nicely that you really felt that you had received something extremely valuable. Everything was explained so well that I never needed to use either the telephone or e-mail support that was there to help me through the home study part of the electrician training course. I had been a bit worried about the maths on the course too but it turned out that there was very little of it and it was straightforward. I loved the hands-on work in their electrician training centre and I spent almost no time in a classroom while I was there. The atmosphere was perfect; we were there to learn but it was relaxed too and the tutors were great. I made at least one really good friend while I was there. I got a free toolkit on the course and although I have since added a couple of things to it the kit proved to be very practical for real life jobs.' At present, Paul is working 3 days a week with a friend who is already a qualified Electrician. ‘I could have gone straight out by myself immediately' said Paul, ‘but he was a mate and was overloaded so I took the opportunity to help him out and get some site-experience at the same time - we're both winners!' Paul's plan is to go full-time working for himself as soon as he can. ‘I only wish I had done this electrician training course earlier' said Paul, ‘but it's never too late and now I've got a trade for life and that makes me feel very secure.' |
