Plumbing NVQ Level 2 - C & G Plumbing Courses

All NVQ qualifications, irrespective of the job to which they relate, are work based. This means that to get an NVQ level 2 in plumbing you must actually be working as a plumber. It does not matter if this is in an employed or self-employed capacity.

The main purpose of an NVQ in any role is to demonstrate workplace competence. In practice, if you have your Plumbing Level 2 Technical Certificate 6129-02 and you are running your own business there is no necessity to hold an NVQ at any level.

Furthermore, even without an Plumbing NVQ qualification, many prospective employers will be prepared to give you an opportunity if you have a good range of qualifications combined with a good attitude.

If you plan to pursue a lifetime career as an employed plumber, it can do no harm to gain every plumbing qualification you can. This will ensure that as you progress through your career you are able to meet the requirements of as many potential employers as possible, thereby maximising your employment potential.

Our programme for the Plumbing NVQ Level 2 qualification involves a number of on-site assessments of the range of work covered during your Plumbing Level 2 Technical Certificate - City & Guilds 6129-02.

The number of assessment visits will vary depending upon whether you are employed or self employed. If you are a self employed plumber you will typically need more than twice as many visits as an employed plumber would require.

The time taken to achieve a plumbing NVQ Level 2 will depend upon the scope of the work that you do during your day to day job. A very broad scope will make assessments easier to schedule and for that reason the time may vary from as little as 9 months upwards.
