 Roy was a 25year old from Oxfordshire working in a job producing extruded metal for industrial use.Although he didn't actually hate his job he had always wanted to be a Plumber but thought little of investing in his future and like many young men he bought a car! Before he knew it he was locked in to needing an income to keep his life together and somehow his ambition seemed to fade into the background. There came a time when he realised that he really needed to do something about changing his life - it was a kind of now or never moment. He had already spoken of his ambitions with his family and his mother did some internet research for him over a number of weeks. Roy said that his mum saw dozens of courses advertised, many of them offering meaningless diplomas or fast track certificates. Some were so called intensive courses where he would need to give up his lob to do 12 weeks of continuous training. Unfortunately Roy needed to keep his job because he had to have an income while he trained. Roy said ‘I chose Trade Qualified because their course was really well presented on their website and in their brochure. I understood everything very clearly because there was no jargon. It looked great and the range of proper qualifications they offered was just what I wanted. Best of all was that I could keep my job while I trained which was really important to me' Roy enrolled on Trade Qualified's Plumbing for Professionals course and has never looked back. He was delighted with the course materials he received and found the home studying part of the course well laid out and easy to follow. In Roy's words ‘I knew I had support available while I was studying at home but everything was so well presented that I didn't need to use it even once during my whole course - I surprised myself at how good I was!' When Roy went for his first week in the training Centre he was really impressed. ‘What a great atmosphere. It was fun but at the same time there was a real focus on learning. The other guys on the course were different ages but they were just like me - we all wanted a new career and really wanted to do well. The tutors were amazing, friendly and approachable and nothing was too much trouble. They made a huge contribution to how much I enjoyed my training and how well I did in such a short time'. Roy commented ‘The whole course just flew by and when I look back on it, in some ways I miss it. The important thing is that I've got some great qualifications that are going to set me up for life and more importantly I've got a great job with a large plumbing company doing a wide range of plumbing work and I've never been happier.' ‘This course with Trade Qualified has made such a big difference to my life. I really enjoy my job now and for the first time in my life I have a strong feeling of job security and confidence in the future'. |
