Solar Photo-Voltaic (PV) |

If you haven’t already noticed, the world is turning green! By now everyone will have seen the panels that are appearing increasingly more often on rooftops throughout the country. Usually the panels are for Solar Hot Water and they use the power of the sun to heat water so that the boiler does not have to use so much energy to do that job all by itself. In April 2010 the government introduced Feed-In Tariffs (also known as FITs). The new tariffs will benefit amongst others, householders who generate their own electricity from renewable sources. These householders can reduce their energy bills by generating either all or some portion of their energy needs themselves. Any electricity they generate but do not require themselves will be automatically fed back into the National Grid and sold back to their usual energy supplier e.g. EON or Npower etc. To take advantage of the new Feed-In Tariffs, a Solar Photo Voltaic (PV) installation must have been made by a qualified PV installer who is registered on the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) using equipment that has been approved within that scheme. This 4 day in Centre course will provide you with the opportunity to gain the formal Bpec certification in Solar Photo-Voltaic (PV). Also included within the course structure will be certification for ‘Working at Heights’. Certification in Solar-Voltaic (PV) will provide you with the necessary 'evidence' to enable you to apply for registration on a Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS). Registration will allow self-certification and notification to Building Control Departments of work completed. The installation certificate you issue to your customer is an important part of the documentation required to enable them to subsequently register their Solar Photo-Voltaic installation on the Feed-in tariff scheme.
The full course fee including VAT is £595. |

We say 'usually the panels are for Solar Hot Water' because we can now expect the appearance of another breed of equally innovative panels that look very similar to Solar Hot Water panels but instead, their sole purpose is to generate electricity from the sun. These panels are Solar Photo-Voltaic.
