![]() Stephen worked in IT managing a team of people. It was demanding and meticulous work but unfortunately it was the same thing day-in-day out. Not only did it lack variety but as a ‘people person' he also wanted to meet new people instead of seeing the same old faces every day. Above all now at the age of 27 he wanted to be his own boss. He had realised a long time ago that he would never really achieve his goals by working for someone else. He had always been fascinated by electricity and when one day there was a power cut in the office and everything around him ground to a halt it brought home to him the vital role that electricity played in our everyday life. It wasn't long afterwards that he decided to combine all of the things he wanted to achieve and train to become a professional Electrician. He looked at local adult colleges to see what electrical training courses they offered but quickly decided that the learning environment would be wrong for him. He felt he would not be mixing with people who had the same goals and in any case it was totally inflexible and would take far too long. He had already done a lot of searching about electrician training on the internet. ‘There seemed to be hundreds of electrical training companies out there' he said. ‘I had to start whittling them down to the basics; what qualifications did they offer, how much they charged, how their course was structured and how long it would take'. ‘I really liked Trade Qualified's' website said Stephen, ‘It was straightforward and told me everything I wanted to know about electrician training courses on just about one page. When I followed this up with a telephone call to one of their Career Advisors, I was convinced. There was no hard sell and no desperation to get an appointment to visit me - I can't say the same for any other company I spoke to! I really like their relaxed and informative approach. I thought about it for a few days and enrolled; it was one of the better decisions in my life' ‘As I progressed through their electrician training course, I never lost the feeling of confidence that I had in them. It felt like a very personal service and I never felt like I was being ‘processed. When I went to the electrician training workshops it was really enjoyable. The tutors were mature guys who had obviously been around and this was a great confidence boost too. It would not have been right to undergo electrician training from people who only knew what they were doing in theory - they would have been just the same as me! The exams were a breeze because I had been well prepared in my home studies which incidentally were obviously put together by people who knew what they were doing. I needed to speak to an Electrician only once during my home study but he was fantastic on the phone. Everything about the electrician training course gave me more and more confidence. My life looks a whole lot different now and I cannot praise Trade Qualified too highly. They asked me if I would recommend their electrician training course to someone in my family. I have four brothers and I would not hesitate to give them my recommendation - it would be great to work with any or all of them in the future. At least I'd know they were well trained!' |
